52. Mr. Ioan Evansasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on his review of the administration of local public libraries in Wales, with particular reference to Aberdare and Mountain Ash.
§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsMy right hon. Friend, after consultation with my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales, has made an order—Statutory Instrument 616 of 29th March 1974—under Section 207(3) of the Local Government Act 1972 constituting the district councils for Cynon Valley, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda and Llanelli library authorities as a temporary measure. He will decide whether or not to make a further order under Section 207(2) after consultation with the county councils concerned as provided for in that subsection.
