asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to limit egg imports from France in view of the prohibition on British egg exports to that country.

No. As I explained in reply to the hon. Member for Hastings (Mr. Warren) on 28th March, we understand that France will not accept eggs from countries which do not ban the use of arsenical and certain other substances. The use of these substances is permitted at present in the United Kingdom and
