HC Deb 25 October 1973 vol 861 cc663-4W
Mr. Stratton Mills

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will list the magnetic tapes in relation to the computerisation of the statutes which are now available in the Stationery Office; if he will indicate the subjects covered, together with the rental costs to the public, of these tapes; and if he will also list the plans for the availability of future tapes, and the approximate time scale.

Mr. Kenneth Baker

Magnetic tapes can now be made available by Her Majesty's Stationery Office for the "Compulsory Acquisition" and "Agriculture" groups of statutes in force. Prices have not yet been fixed as the second batch of statutes in force, under the general heading of "Property", to which I referred in my reply to the hon. Member's Question on 29th January 1973, has not yet been published. Future tapes will be available for each group shortly after that group is published. Publication of statutes in force will be by instalments over a period of up to 10 years.
