§ Mr. Leadbitterasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish the list of housing local authorities in the Northern Region showing their housing completions in 1970, 1971, 1972 and the estimated completions for 1973, and the numbers without building programmes ; and if he will make a statement on his policy towards the unit cost yardsticks for council house building and its relation to present house building trends.
§ Mr. EyreInformation for 1970, 1971, 1972 and the first six months of 1973 was published in Local Housing Statistics, England and Wales, Nos. 17, 21, 25 and 27 respectively. Copies are available in the Library. The hon. Member should seek any further information about their building programmes from the local authorities.
More flexible cost yardstick arrangements were introduced last November which are intended to enable local authorities to proceed with their housing schemes at a cost which reflects local market conditions.
