HC Deb 27 November 1973 vol 865 c122W
51. Mr. Orbach

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many beds for patients awaiting hysterectomies are in use in the Stockport and Buxton Hospital Management Committee area ; what is the earliest date by which he expects additional beds to be available ; and how many additional beds there will be.

Mr. Alison

No beds are allocated specifically for hysterectomy. There are five beds presently in use and two patients awaiting admission. During 1974 an additional 56 acute beds will become available at Stepping Hill Hospital, but it is not yet decided whether any of these will be allocated to gynaecology.
