HC Deb 12 November 1973 vol 864 cc9-10W
Mr. Mason

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what consultations he had with foreign Governments, the Intergovernmental Maritime Consultative Organisation, trade unions and other British shipping interests before he framed proposals dealing with the protection of British shipping and trading interests.

Mr. Onslow

The subject matter of the proposals has been discussed with the Chamber of Shipping, the British Shippers' Council and a number of Governments of Western Europe and Japan, but not with the trade unions or with the Intergovernmental Maritime Consultative Organisation.
