HC Deb 12 November 1973 vol 864 c18W
46. Mr. Heffer

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will propose an amendment to the Protection of Property Act 1875, with regard to picketing.

Mr. Carlisle

As the House knows, the Government have promised a statement on their review of the law on picketing and my right hon. Friend had hoped to make a statement before now. But notice of appeal to the House of Lords has been lodged in a case which concerns an important aspect of the law, and he proposes to defer any statement until this appeal has been decided.
