HC Deb 12 November 1973 vol 864 cc43-4W
58. Mr. Orme

asked the Attorney-General if he is satisfied with the working of the law of contempt of court.

The Attorney-General

The Government will consider this matter when they receive the report of the Phillimore Committee, which is expected early in the New Year.

59. Mr. Atkinson

asked the Attorney-General what recent representations he has received on the operation of the law relating to contempt of court.

The Attorney-General

I have received only one representation recently, which supported the law as laid down by the House of Lords A.G. v. Times Newspaper Ltd. in July.
