§ Sir G. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is aware that Broughton, Northamptonshire, Parish Council is concerned with the delay in the construction of the A43 bypass; and whether, in view of the continued danger to pedestrians in Broughton, he will expedite the work.
§ Mr. SpeedI am aware of the parish council's concern. Work on preparation of the scheme is proceeding. The use of consultants is being explored, and I will write to the right hon. Member as soon as a decision is reached.
