Mr. Stallard

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what were the reasons for the exclusion of Mr. J. Clarke, aged 92 years, a semi-blind cripple, from England on Sunday 22nd April.

Mr. Lane

Mr. Clarke was refused leave to enter on 21st April, on the ground that his exclusion was conducive to the public good as being in the interests of national security.
