§ Mr. Stratton Millsasked the Minister for the Civil Service why the recent recommendations of the Scottish Computer Research Trust on the use of computers for lawyers have not been followed up; and if he will now make a statement.
§ The Attorney-GeneralI have been asked to reply. The recommendations were made in a report to (not of) the Scottish Computer Research Trust. Its principal recommendation was that the trust should participate in the establishment of a British organisation, sponsored by the legal profession, to further developments in the application of computer techniques. I understand this proposal is at present under active consideration by the professional institutions concerned.
