asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (a) How many motor accidents there have been;
  2. 2058
  3. (b) How many persons killed; and
  4. (c) How many persons seriously injured, on the eight-mile stretch of road between Horsham and Crawley in the last five years.

Statistics of road accidents and casualties in local areas are a matter for the local authorities concerned. My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment suggests that my noble friend contacts the local authority, in this instance West Sussex County Council.
