§ Mr. AmeryThe question of the British Solomon Islands Protectorate claiming fishery jurisdiction over certain areas of the seas beyond the 12-mile limit was discussed between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of the Protectorate early in 1971. It was pointed out to the Government of the Protectorate that such an extension would be contrary to international law and could not be authorised.
