§ Mr. AmeryA number of discussions were held during 1969 and 1970 between Her Majesty's Government and members of the Government of the Bahamas on the desire of the latter to extend Bahamian jurisdiction over certain areas of the sea beyond the 12-mile limit. The Government of the Bahamas were informed that such an extension would be contrary to international law and could not he authorised.
