Mr. Bishop

asked the Minister of State for Defence if he will take steps to protect the facilities at RAF Syerston, Nottinghamshire, now being kept on a care and maintenance basis; and how soon he expects to be able to make a statement on its future use.

The airfield at RAF Syerston is looked after by RAF Newton. The domestic site is under the care of the Department of the Environment. As regards the second part of the hon. Member's Question, I regret that I am at present unable to add to what my hon. Friend told him on 31st January.—[Vol. 849, c.403–4.]
