HL Deb 26 July 1973 vol 344 cc2053-4WA
LORD VERNON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When they propose to publish their reactions to the Report of the Ross Population Panel.

LORD WINDLESHAM

On publishing the Report by the Ross Population Panel the Government said that it would allow public opinion to crystallise before announcing conclusions on the Panel's recommendations. However the noble Lord will probably be aware that the Government has already taken steps to implement one of the more important recommendations of the Panel by providing that family planning will become part of the National Health Service, subject to the normal charges and exemptions. It is proposed that a Statement be made after Parliament reassembles in the autumn.
