HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 cc454-5W
Mr. Harold Walker

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he proposes to deal with the appeal submitted to him in October 1972 by the Danum Housing Association Limited regarding the proposed conversion of a house in Albany Road, Doncaster, into self-contained flats for unmarried mothers.

Mr. Graham Page

This appeal is at present awaiting a date for a local inquiry which owing to the large increase lately in the number of appeals is not likely to be before the spring of 1974. The appeal appears to be one which can proceed by the exchange of written statements and a visit to the site by an inspector. The Department is therefore suggesting to the appellants' agents that they reconsider whether they still wish an inquiry to be held. If they agree to accept the written method it is anticipated that the appeal could be decided before the end of this year.
