HC Deb 19 July 1973 vol 860 c206W
Mr. Duffy

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what percentage of households in Northern Ireland entirely lack a water closet; and how this compares with Great Britain.

Mr. David Howell

At the time of the 1971 Census the figure was 10.5 per cent. compared with 1.09 per cent. in Great Britain. Action has been taken since then to improve the situation, and it is hoped to achieve a substantial reduction of this figure during the next five years.
