§ Mr. Crouchasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in his proposals for the Channel Tunnel, he intends that the loading of heavy freight lorries for passage through the tunnel should be restricted to the tunnel entrance at Cheri-ton; or whether it is planned for some lorries to be loaded in London.
§ Mr. PeytonLorries could be loaded only at Cheriton, but it is expected that 60 per cent. of the freight using the tunnel would be carried on through trains from London and other inland centres.
