HC Deb 04 July 1973 vol 859 cc134-5W
53. Sir D. Renton

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that many people who would like to make representations to him about the proposals in his consultative document "The Control of Firearms in Great Britain" are unable to obtain copies of it, and that the further reprint required has not been made available in time for representations to be made to him by 30th June; and whether he will therefore extend the time in which representations may be made.

Mr. Carlisle

I would refer my right hon. and learned Friend to the answer which my right hon. Friend gave to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for The High Peak (Mr. Le Marchant) on 22nd June and the extension of the period of consultation until the end of July. Copies of the Green Paper have at all times been available and continue to be available at all Government bookshops, and no reprint has been necessary.
