HC Deb 04 July 1973 vol 859 cc151-2W
Mr. Sutcliffe

asked the Minister of State for Defence how many serving in Her Majesty's Forces have successfully applied and paid £150 to be discharged in each full year since 1968 and in the first six months of 1973; how many have applied unsuccessfully; what is the average and the longest period intervening between date of first application and date of discharge; and whether it is normal practice for those posted abroad to pay travel costs of returning to the United Kingdom for discharge.

all defence contracts by value and by number were placed, respectively, by competitive tendering, at agreed price as a result of a single tender or placed non-competitively with the understanding that prices would be agreed later for each of the last three years for which figures are available.
