HC Deb 02 July 1973 vol 859 c22W
Mr. Fry

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the present authorised establishment of the police force of Northampton and county, in view of the fact that the report of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary for 1972 shows that this force has the highest population per man in England and Wales; and whether, in view of the county's rate of growth, he will consider an increase in the present authorised establishment.

Mr. Carlisle

A review of the establishment is now being prepared by the chief constable in consultation with Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary for submission to the police authority. When the review is complete we shall examine the situation in the light of the police authority's proposals and with professional advice.
