Mr. Tope

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many community development projects have been started since 1969;

(2) how many community development projects are in operation at the present time;

(3) in which towns and cities community development projects are operating;

(4) whether he will undertake to visit each town and city in which a community development project is operating within the next six months.

Twelve community development projects are now operating in selected areas in Batley, Birmingham, Cleator Moor (Cumberland), Coventry, Glyncorrwg (Glamorgan), Liverpool, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Newham, Oldham, Paisley, Southwark and Tynemouth.

I visited Coventry earlier this Session and hope to see other projects later this year.
