Mr. Coombsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what studies his Department has carried out into the effects of the proposals on worker directors in the EEC fifth directive on harmonisation of company law and the draft European Companies Statute on investment prospects for United Kingdom companies.
§ Sir G. HoweThe proposals for a fifth directive and a European company statute are as yet at a preliminary stage. We are studying the drafts in consultation with industry and will bear in mind any implications for investment.
