§ Mr. Leonardasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what reply he has sent to the letter written to him on 19th January by the British Secondary Metals Association concerning the export of stainless steel and nickel alloy scrap.
§ Mr. EmeryI replied on 13th February confirming that in accordance with the Treaty of Accession and having regard to the current supply situation, the Government had decided to retain some ferrous scrap export -restrictions for the time being. Detailed advice was given of the circumstances in which exports of certain types of alloy steel scrap would be allowed.
