§ Mr. Bodyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many United Kingdom nationals reside in Kenya; and how many of these are United Kingdom nationals, as defined in the Declaration on Nationality annexed to the Treaty of Accession to the EEC.
§ Mr. KershawI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave him on 31st January. I then said that of the estimated 60,000 to 70,000 United Kingdom nationals at present in Kenya approximately one half have the right of abode in this country by virtue of their origin here or close connections with the United Kingdom. The latter are United Kingdom "nationals" for European Community purposes in accordance with the declaration referred to.—[Vol. 849, c.411.]
