§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the precise negotiating mandate laid down by the EEC Council of Ministers in respect of negotiations on a trade agreement between the EEC and India.
§ Mr. John DaviesAt its meeting of 4th December last year, the Council of Ministers agreed that the Community should negotiate with India for a commercial co-operation agreement.
The details of the mandate which the Council will approve for the conduct of these negotiations are still under discussion within the Community.
