§ 26. Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will indicate the result of his recent meet- 276W ing with the speech therapists; and whether he was able to inform them of progress in the implementation of the Quirk Report.
§ Sir K. JosephI assured the college representatives that their views would be carefully considered. I also confirmed that I hope to make a statement on the Quirk Report as soon as possible and that formal consultations between the profession and the four Departments concerned could then begin.
§ 27. Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the Government's policies relating to the recommendations of the Quirk Report on speech therapists.
