§ Mr. Oakesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received for and against the proposed extensions at Liverpool Airport; from which individuals and organisations they have come; and what replies he has sent.
§ Mr. Graham PageMy Department has received two representations in favour of an extension to the runway at Liverpool Airport, one from the hon. Member for Liverpool, Wavertree (Mr. Tilney) and one from a private individual. We have received 18 representations against an extension of the runway from the following:
- The hon. Member for Widnes (Mr. Oakes).
- Runcorn Urban District Council.
- Runcorn Rural District Council.
- The parish councils of Helsby, Hale and Preston Brook.
- The Noise Abatement Society.
- Hale Conservation Association.
- Hale Preservation Committee.
- Hale Cricket Club.
- Hale Youth Club.
- Hale Playgroup.
- And six private individuals.
The replies to all of these representations have indicated that, when the planning application is referred to my right hon. and learned Friend, he will call it in for his decision and will arrange for a public local inquiry to be held.
