§ Mr. Oakesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many and which airports in England and Wales have at present proposals before him to extend runways or increase facilities.
§ Mr. Graham PageProposals are at present before us in respect of:
- (i) the construction of an airport and ancillary buildings at Winstone Beacon, Saltash, Cornwall;
- (ii) the widening of taxiways and turning circles and temporary enlargement of the passenger terminal at Luton Airport.
In addition there are a number of proposals of a minor nature at small airfields used for general aviation purposes.
I understand from my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales that there are no proposals before him at the present time.
