§ 50. Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received asking him to raise family allowances.
§ Sir K. JosephIn the past six months I have received 50 or so representations urging that family allowances be increased. These included four from recognised bodies, such as Child Poverty Action Group, and 25 petitions organised by private groups, containing a total of about 6,000 names. The remaining representations were from individuals.
