HC Deb 26 October 1972 vol 843 c401W
Mr. Ian Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will compensate the people of Emsworth for the costs they have incurred in presenting their case to the Emsworth Short By-Pass Inquiry.

Mr. Speed

No, but owners, lessees and occupiers of property directly affected by the Orders for the Relief Road and who formally objected to these Orders will be entitled to claim either the whole or part of their costs at the Inquiry if the effect on their property has been removed or diminished by modification of the Side Road and Compulsory Purchase Orders.
