HC Deb 25 October 1972 vol 843 c294W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will now convene a conference of all local authorities to discuss existing planning powers to deal with problems of pollution.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I am not convinced that existing planning powers are inadequate to deal with pollution problems and that a conference of this kind would be justified. If the hon. Member has any evidence to the contrary I should be glad to consider it.
