HC Deb 24 October 1972 vol 843 c237W
Mr. Loveridge

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the population figure required for a small hospital to have provision for full X-ray services; and when this figure was last altered, and by how much.

Mr. Alison

The provision of X-ray facilities in hospitals will depend primarily on the type of hospital concerned, but full X-ray facilities will normally only be provided in district general hospitals serving a population of around a quarter of a million.
