HC Deb 18 October 1972 vol 843 c86W
Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he now has for the labelling of road and rail vehicles carrying dangerous materials.

Mr. John Peyton

My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary has already made regulations for the labelling of vehicles carrying inflammable liquids and corrosives by road. Similar regulations for other classes of dangerous substances are in course of preparation. Vehicles carrying radioactive materials are already required to be labelled.

The labelling of dangerous substances carried by rail is a management matter for the British Railways Board.
