HC Deb 17 October 1972 vol 843 cc57-8W
Q17. Mr. St. John-Stevas

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on his preparations for his forthcoming visit to Japan.

Q18. Dr. Vaughan

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on his proposed visit to Japan.

The Prime Minister

I visited Japan from 16th to 19th September at the invitation of the Japanese Government. I had frank and cordial talks with the Japanese Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs on a wide range of subjects of common interest. I have placed in the Library of the House a copy of the Communiqué issued after my visit. I am convinced that the relationship between Japan and other industrialised nations is of fundamental importance for world prosperity and stability. Mr. Tanaka has accepted my invitation to visit the United Kingdom next year.
