§ Mr, CarlisleThe information asked for in the first two parts of the Question is not available. On 31st December the amount outstanding in England and Wales, excluding inner London, was £7,030,003, but this figure included fines in respect of which the time allowed for payment had not expired. Advice has been given to justices' clerks in England and Wales on means of improving their fine enforcement machinery.
