HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c407W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he is aware that soldiers of the British Army arrested Gerard Donelly, Gerard Bradley and Edward Duffy on Thursday, 20th April, and took them to Broadway Military Post where they were tortured by soldiers and officers of the Special Branch of the Royal Ulster Constabulary; if he has seen the report of Mr. Lane, the surgeon at Lisburn; and what action he is taking in these matters.

Mr. Whitelaw

I am aware that such allegations have been made. They are at present being investigated and a report on the matter is to be sent to me as soon as possible.
