asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what is the average cost of building a two-bedroomed and a three-bedroomed council house in Staffordshire;

(2) what is the average cost of building a two-bedroomed and a three-bedroomed council house in the Leek parliamentary constituency.

In tenders approved for local authorities in the West Midlands region during the first three quarters of 1971, the estimated average construction cost was £3,560 for a two-storey 4 person house and £3,750 for a two-storey 5-person house.
