§ Mr. Anthony StodartWe have received 551 letters of complaint about the so-called Iron Maiden, most of which have called for a ban, and replied that we consider the system to be acceptable under proper management.
§ Mr. Burdenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will ask the Farm Animal Welfare Advisory Committee to determine the average time that sows are kept in the Protecta farrowing stall, and make recommendations for periods of freedom for exercise.
