HC Deb 09 May 1972 vol 836 c351W
Mr. Stratton Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will run the Floral Hall, Belfast, as £ community and civic centre; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Howell

The Floral Hall, Belfast, is the property of the Belfast Corporation but is not currently in use by the corporation. The corporation recently invited persons who might be interested in the future use of the hall to make applications to it, and I understand that it has received a variety of propositions, including an informal suggestion that it could be used for community purposes. These various suggestions are currently being explored and their practicability is being assessed.
