§ 88. Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will give details of the studies in agoraphobia being undertaken and supported by the Medical Research Council.
§ Mrs. ThatcherResearch in progress at the MRC Unit for Epidemiological Studies in Psychiatry, Edinburgh, centres on the clinical, familial, psychological and social aspects of agoraphobia in housewives. The council is also giving longterm grant support to a controlled clinical trial on the treatment of phobic disorders at the Warneford Hospital, Oxford, and is supporting other studies under its scheme or project grants to individual workers in university departments and hospitals.
