HC Deb 03 May 1972 vol 836 c142W
Mr. Strang

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what further representations he has received regarding the exclusion of Edinburgh from the Scottish development area.

Mr. Gordon Campbell:

I have received expressions of appreciation for the Government's action in ending last year the exclusion of Edinburgh from the assisted areas, a situation which had been created by the last Government. I have also received representations that the status should be advanced to development area, and I have discussed this with the Lord Provost.
