§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsI myself visited Transpo 1972 in Washington together with officials from my Department. My main purpose was to support the British effort at the Third International Conference on Experimental Safety Vehicles, but I took the opportunity to examine the new mass passenger transit systems on display at Transpo, and discussed their application with the United States Secretary for Transportation. These and other methods of improving commuter services into large cities are being carefully considered, and as and when announcements are appropriate, my right hon. Friend will make them.
