§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications whether he will make a statement on the envisaged proposals of the European Economic Community Commission regarding the development of telecommunications and the open purchasing policy of buying equipment from other than national enterprises; and to what extent this will affect the present purchasing arrangements in Great Britain.
§ Sir J. EdenI do not yet know whether the Commission will have any proposals to make but we already collaborate closely with the countries of the Six in association with the International Telecommunication Union and the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations.
