§ Mr. AlisonAt 31st December, 1971, 706 patients in England and Wales were maintained on dialysis at home and a further 476 in hospital. Information about the total number of patients for whom dialysis is judged to be appropriate is not available centrally. Services for chronic renal failure continue to develop within available resources.
