§ Mr. CarlisleMy right hon. Friend's authority is required for all purchases of 215W vehicles for use by the Metropolitan Police. Authority has been given for the purchase of a few foreign cars for use on special duties outside the ordinary range of police operational work. Three such cars are at present held by the force. Some other police forces in England and Wales have more and some have none.
