§ Miss Quennellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment in view of the increase in the provision of street furniture, especially in built-up areas where drivers' vision is limited by these objects, if he will ask highway authorities to keep these objects to the minimum.
§ Mr. Eldon Griffiths"Roads in Urban Areas", issued by my Department, draws attention to the need to avoid interference with visibility in the siting of all street furniture. Subject to this, each locality has to be treated on its merits; but if my hon. Friend has a particular case in mind I will look into it.
