§ Mr. Dudley SmithA detailed age analysis of the numbers registered as wholly unemployed is made in January and July each year and the latest figures are for 10th January, 1972. At that date, out of 3,266 people registered as wholly unemployed in the area covered by the Stockport employment exchange, 859–26.3 per cent.—were under 25 years of age and 1,008–30.9 per cent.—were 50 years of age and over.
