HC Deb 06 July 1972 vol 840 cc210-1W

Mr. Deakins asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is satisfied that the United Kingdom animal welfare safeguards are being observed at lairages in the United Kingdom, away from the ports, in respect of livestock for export.

Mr. Peter Mills

Under the Exported Animals Protection Order, 1964, lairage premises in Great Britain are required to be at or near the place of loading, and all the approved premises meet this criterion.
